Success comes with many celebrations, but remembering the people who stood by you before the recognition is something special. For Asisat Oshoala, that connection remains important.
The Super Falcons forward has presented a Toyota Highlander to tactician Emmanuel Osahon, the coach who played a significant role in her early football development.

Oshoala's journey with Coach Osahon dates back to 2009, when she was still a teenager trying to find her feet in the game. At a time when her career was just beginning to take shape, Osahon provided an environment where her talent could grow, watching closely as she developed into the player the football world would later come to know.
Today, after years of hard work, international success and recognition, Oshoala has found another way to appreciate the man who was part of her early journey.
The Highlander donation is not her first gesture of support. During her early years in Europe, she had previously donated a bus to support the team's activities, showing that her connection to her roots remained strong despite her growing success abroad.

This latest gesture is another reminder of that relationship and the value she places on those who contributed to her development.
For Osahon, seeing a player he once nurtured as a teenager rise to international prominence is already a source of pride. Having that same player return years later to appreciate his contribution makes the story even more meaningful.

Football often celebrates goals, trophies, individual awards and international achievements. But beyond all of that are the coaches, mentors and grassroots figures who help shape careers long before the spotlight arrives.
Oshoala may have travelled far and achieved so much, but this gesture sends a simple message: she remembers where it all started and the people who believed in her before the world knew her name.
