Behind every young footballer who reaches the biggest stage, there is often someone who believed in the talent before the world knew the name.

For Victory Lucky, that journey began through the OSEBABA CUP — Women Football Competition, organised in Ondo Town, Ondo State, by Hon. Akinboni Koleola Benson, popularly known as OseBaba, CEO/Chairman of Makinz Sports Promotions Ltd and Makinz Football Club, Abuja, Nigeria.

The OSEBABA CUP was created to provide young female footballers with a platform to showcase their abilities, gain exposure and attract opportunities.

It was through this scouting programme that Victory Lucky was identified as a promising young talent.

Her potential did not go unnoticed.

She was given the opportunity to continue her development with Sunshine Queens FC of Akure, where she has continued to grow as a defender and make important contributions on the pitch.

And there is another important part of Victory's journey:

So this is not simply a story about discovering a player.

It is a story about discovery, development, management and opportunity.

Victory has gone on to make decisive contributions for Sunshine Queens, including scoring the winning goal against Nasarawa in a 1–0 victory and later producing a late header against Unification FC of Lagos to help keep her team's promotion hopes alive.

Then came the biggest recognition yet.

From being discovered at a women's grassroots football competition in Ondo State to representing Nigeria at a FIFA World Cup, Victory Lucky's journey is a powerful example of what can happen when talent meets opportunity and proper career management.
